Mumbai is a cosmopolitan metropolis which was earlier know ans Bombay is the largest city all over India. It has an estimated population of 25  million people according to the census in 2009. The immense city of Mumbai is divided into 7 districts which are :

Apart form its mouth-watering food, Mumbai is also famous for its worship places. Mumbai gained its name from a Hindu-temple named "Mumbadevi" temple. This temple is dedicated to goddess Mumba which also means Great Mother in Sanskrit. This temple is also located in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa and in South Mumbai. This temple is the heart of steel and clothing markets.

Gateway Of India -  The gateway of India was build during British rule in India. This gate was build to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to India. This gate was built in 1914. The total cost to build this gate was approx. $38000 U.S.D or 2100000 I.N.R.. Here is a picture of the colossal gate.
